SINGAPENNEY

Guns.. Bullets..police..mob.. It was one of the as usual riot days in Jammu & Kashmir.
The police were trying to control the mob with tear gas. In middle of that a young lady, her  face covered with scarf with eyes filled with rage started throwing stones on police. Next day her pics became viral on social media with  a tag "stone pelter". The media & newspaper labeled her as "Stone Pelter turned to be a football goalkeeper"
but she wasn't a Stone pelter. If you read this full story you would agree that. It's a long story , don't hesitate.

In the state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) a normal citizen would be frightened to come out but she came out bravely to play cricket. She's AFSHAN ASHIQ of Srinagar.
During her initial days with her coach encouragement she became a football player. She used to practice with boys, for that she was warned by her religion head to not paly with boys but she didn't care. She wanted to increase the women's participation rate in football for that she motivated her friends and schoolmates to play football. she used to visit her friends homes to bring awareness on football to their parents, as there were no women football coach no one dared to play. But she didn't give up ,she turned herself to football coach and started her own football academy i.e "Unique Football Club" with 10 members and now it's giving training to 150 students. It was the first academy in J&K at that time. Not only that she also build a football team.....
Now coming to that story behind the tag "stone pelter". One day she was going practice then the police were charging on the mob to control them. They thought that she was one of them and started to attack her. For self protection she started to throw stones on them . Then those pics got viral on social media and everyone got to know about her with a name  "stone pelter". But she faced many consequences after that. Her father locked her in a room for about a month. She begged her mother to let her for practice at least half an hour, but all her efforts gone in vain. Atlast after several empty stomach days & sleepless nights she was allowed to practice. She went to Mumbai to join FIFA club as goalkeeper and there she used to train immigrant kids from other states. Upto now she played in 30  state level matches, 4 matches in National level and Sum Slammer cup in Sri Lanka. And now she wanted  to play for India National team . I hope one day she will reach her goal as a goalkeeper.
From this story what  I learned is never give up on our dreams and sometimes if we can't find a way then we should make one. This story is for all who struggled for their dreams and also who are struggling. AFSHAN was the best example for "FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU LOVE". I want to thank all of you for supporting me. It's been a year since I started this blog and HAPPY SANKARANTI to you and your family.
